An editorial reading in dialogue with Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent brought literary and theatrical imagination into fashion, including a tribute to Shakespeare. Violet Ruffles invites an editorial reading of the pause before a character steps onstage. The deep colour sets the scene; the front ruffles unfold like a phrase gathering emphasis. A softer fold at the neckline tempers the vertical line, giving Sara’s drawing both presence and a sense of reserve.
